Amy Austin

AmyAmy Austin was raised in a Christian home in a town of 400 people in central Illinois. She grew up surrounded by friends who went to the local Christian church with her, attended church camp each summer and participated in Bible studies throughout their school years.

One might think this would foster a deep Christian foundation, but when Amy went to college, she quickly decided to keep God at arm's length. Doing so led to poor decisions and depression. After graduating college with a BA in Psychology, Amy moved to the city of Chicago where she took a job in Human Resources and soon after met the man she would marry. Matt and his family were actively involved in a church and Amy quickly found her way back to God.

Amy and her husband, Matt where married in 1999 and struggled greatly in their marriage for many years. Through much prayer, fasting, and counseling, God's freedom has been displayed in many areas of their lives. Matt and Amy have three wonderful, smart and active children. They have run a small group out of their home since 2005 and they are both leaders in different ministries at Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park, IL. In her free time Amy can often by found walking, laughing and drinking coffee with her girlfriends. She is a full time stay at home mom and a part-time speaker and writer. In 2014 Amy started a blog to help people live on a budget and make wise financial decisions. Her blog can be found at This email address is being protected from spambots. In fall of 2004, Amy attended a large women's conference in Chicago, IL. As she watched the main speaker on the stage, God planted a seed that has been growing ever since. Considering she was a shy girl from a little farm town, the idea of being on a stage speaking to thousands of women seemed like a crazy dream, but when she met Cristina Harty and found out about New Beginnings Ministries, she realized her dream of ministering to women would soon become a reality.

"I want nothing more at New Beginnings Ministries than to see women set free from bondage and to come into their calling. I have come to realize that most people have no idea what they are passionate about and do not know they were born for a purpose. I love seeing the scales fall off as women begin to realize they are strong in the Lord and beautiful inside and out. Encouraging women to step out of their comfort zone and just go for it burns deep in my spirit. If I was able to bust out of my thick shell, anyone can."
